OLED vs LCD Handheld
Contrast and color vs brightness, cost, and burn-in peace of mind
OLED panel
Perfect blacks, per-pixel contrast, vivid color — the reason a handheld can look premium. Static-UI burn-in is the long-tail caveat.

LCD (IPS) panel
No burn-in risk, often higher sustained brightness and refresh, and cheaper — at the cost of grey-black contrast.

The call
OLED is the better-looking panel and it is not close in a dark room: perfect blacks and per-pixel contrast make everything read premium. The honest caveats are burn-in over years of static HUDs and, on some units, lower peak brightness than a good LCD in daylight. A quality high-refresh IPS LCD answers with brightness, no burn-in worry, and a lower price — which is why plenty of excellent handhelds still ship one. Judge the specific panel, not the acronym: nits, refresh rate, and VRR support move the experience more than the technology label. Resolution is the least of it.
