The Deck OLED is the better system: SteamOS is tuned to the hardware, the OLED panel is excellent, and at matched settings its battery band is the longest in class because it is not chasing a peak wattage it cannot hold. The Ally has more raw horsepower and a higher-refresh screen, and Windows means it runs launchers SteamOS fights — but that horsepower costs battery and hands you Windows handheld friction. Published reviews consistently put the Deck ahead on longevity and the Ally ahead on peak frame rates; pick the one whose trade-off you actually feel. Either way, emulation on both is only as legal as the games you own.
